Why Shouldn’t I Skip Breakfast?
As soon as I awake in the morning, my thoughts turn to breakfast. I’m a diehard cereal lover and I usually go over in my mind the choices I have in the cupboard. I actually can’t even enjoy a coffee before I have some food in my belly. Breakfast has never been a problem for me.
But I know many people who cringe at the thought of eating anything before noon. They believe that skipping breakfast is a good way to lose weight.
But nothing could be further from the truth. In addition to missing nutrients and energy, it’ll reduce your concentration and if you eat nothing at breakfast you can become ravenous and overeat the rest of the day.
It is literally “breaking the fast” of the night before and provides you with the energy to start your day.
Choosing something simple like a banana and a yoghurt, or toast with peanut butter or even drinking a nutrient-rich supplement or DIY smoothie would be better than nothing at all.
And Tony the Tiger agrees about the benefits of eating breakfast, “They’re not good. They’re Gr-r-reat!”
