A good secret
My daughter posted a story on Facebook with a photo of my 5-year-old granddaughter, Sophia, holding a photo frame. In her story, she shared that while at the mall Sophia had spotted a picture that looked like her baby sister, Talia.
Before I read her post, I saw the photo. I thought it was Talia. There was a remarkable resemblance.
But at closer inspection, I realized it was just an adorable baby. Not Talia.
Talia’s smile reached her eyes.
She smiled in a way that made me think she had a secret. A wonderful secret. Like she knew something that we didn’t.
Or she knew Someone we didn’t.
Sometimes I imagine she knew she would be with Jesus soon. She knew her time on earth was short. But that was okay because she knew she was going to a better place. This made her smile.
And her smile reached her eyes.
