Santa vs. Jesus
Like most children I looked forward to the excitement of Christmas morning where I’d spill out of bed, run down the hall, and see all the many wrapped gifts under the tree. Santa did not disappoint. He rewarded this nice girl.
However, I did spend some hours worrying that I may be put on the naughty list. And I knew that naughty girls got coal in their stockings. Christmas morning came down to whether I was naughty or whether I was nice.
I’m glad that God doesn’t work the same as Santa. (tweet this)
God doesn’t make such a list of checks and balances to receive the gift of His Son Jesus. For us to believe that He came as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins all we need to do is accept the gift. We don’t need to follow a list of commands or perform specific rituals or duties. Once we accept Jesus, believe He died for our sins, and confess our belief, we are written in the book of life. It’s so simple. All we have to do is receive it.
Have you received the gift of salvation?
